CoopVPN Policy

Effective Date: March 26, 2026 Last Updated: March 26, 2026

⚠️ Beta Disclaimer: This privacy policy is a draft document associated with a beta version of our VPN service. While the practices described here reflect our genuine intentions and current operational standards, some details may be subject to change as the service matures. We recommend checking back for updates. By using our service during this beta period, you acknowledge that features and policies may evolve.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you visit our website or use our VPN service. We are committed to your privacy. This policy is divided into two sections: one covering our Website and one covering our VPN Service.

Website Privacy

1.1 No Tracking, No Cookies

When you visit our website, we do not:

  • Place any cookies on your device (session, persistent, or third-party)
  • Use tracking pixels, web beacons, or fingerprinting scripts
  • Load any third-party analytics tools
  • Run advertising scripts or tracking code
  • Track your browsing behavior, referral source, or time on page

Our website is purely informational. You can browse it without any data being collected by us.

1.2 No IP Address Logging

We do not log, record, or store the IP address of visitors to our website. Your IP address is never written to any server log, database, or file under our control.

1.3 No Personal Data Collection (Website)

Unless you actively choose to contact us, we collect no personal information through the website.

1.4 No Third-Party Content

Our website does not embed third-party content such as social media buttons, external fonts loaded from remote servers, or embedded videos that could allow third parties to track you.

1.5 What We Do Not Sell

We do not sell, rent, share, or monetize any visitor data because we do not collect any.

1.6 Third-Party Infrastructure Notice

Our website is hosted on GitHub Pages. While we do not collect any data ourselves, GitHub (a Microsoft subsidiary) may process certain technical information such as IP addresses and HTTP request headers as part of serving the website to you. This is handled entirely by GitHub’s infrastructure and is outside of our control. We encourage you to review GitHub’s Privacy Statement for details on what they may log.

Additionally, when your browser resolves our domain name (DNS), that request may be visible to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or the DNS resolver you use. This is a fundamental aspect of how the internet works and is beyond our control. If this concerns you, we recommend using an encrypted DNS resolver (such as DNS-over-HTTPS) or connecting through our VPN service, which handles DNS resolution privately on your behalf.

VPN Service Privacy

⚠️ Beta Notice: Our VPN service is currently in beta. The no-logs policy described below is already in effect, but certain technical configurations and infrastructure details may change as we finalize the service. We are committed to maintaining or improving our privacy standards as the service develops.

2.1 Our Core Commitment: A Strict No-Logs Policy

We operate a strict, unconditional no-logs VPN service. This means we do not collect, store, or process any of the following:

  • Your originating IP address
  • The IP addresses of servers or websites you connect to
  • The date, time, or duration of your VPN sessions
  • The amount of data you transfer
  • Your DNS queries
  • Your browsing history, traffic content, or application usage
  • Any metadata that could be used to identify or reconstruct your online activity

We are technically unable to link any activity on our network to a specific user, because we simply do not record it.

2.2 No IP Logging on the VPN Network

When you connect to our VPN servers, your originating IP address is never logged. Our servers are configured to:

  • Not write any user-identifiable data to disk
  • Operate without any monitoring tools that could capture user traffic

2.3 No Selling of User Data

We do not and will never sell, rent, or share user data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party for commercial purposes.

Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which we are incorporated, to the extent applicable to privacy and data protection.

This policy reflects our genuine operational practices. We believe privacy is a right, not a feature.
